The Shopping Centre Council of Australia (SCCA) has awarded Pam Wilson, National Community Experience Manager, Scentre Group (owner of Westfield destinations in Australia and New Zealand) as its 2023 Frank Lowy Fellow.

2023 Fellow Pam Wilson’s role focuses on forging closer connections between communities and their Westfield destinations. This has included the genesis of the Westfield Local Heroes community recognition and grant program and a National partnership with Lifeline Australia.

Ms Wilson also developed and delivered mental health first-aid training for customer experience teams in Westfield destinations.

Phoebe White, National Commercial Manager, Scentre Group has been awarded a Highly Commended accolade for work championing a number of initiatives across the Scentre Group portfolio that ensures an inclusive environment for people of all abilities. This has included Quiet Time and Sensory Maps which offer a less stimulating shopping environment at set times each week, benefiting those with Autism, Dementia, and other sensory differences.

Nominees for the 2023 Frank Lowy Fellowship were evaluated by a judging panel comprised of Anthony Mellowes, CEO, Region Group and SCCA Chairman; Elliott Rusanow, CEO, Scentre Group and SCCA Depuy Chair; Michelle Abbey, Head of Retail, Stockland; Andrew Byars, General Manager, Property Investment, Perron Group and Ben Finger, Managing Director and Co-Founder, Haben.

The 2023 Frank Lowy Fellowship winner, Pam Wilson, will receive a grant of $20,000 to put towards continued education.

Leata Hunter

Haben Property Fund Pty Ltd

Leata has been pivotal in developing Haben’s framework of risk, security, and compliance for their entire national portfolio. Leata led Haben to partner with industry leaders in technology and risk management to launch a best in class and fully integrated contactor management, compliance, WH&S and emergency and cyber response ecosystem and has also created a suite of training resources for Haben’s teams.

Sophie Pagliaro

Lancini Property Group

Sophie has taken the lead on researching and implementing a number of new value-add opportunities which resulted in Net Operating Income (NOI) growth and valuation uplift. This has included introducing the first EV chargers across the Lancini Property Group portfolio and bottle recycling programs.

Chrystal Davies

McConaghy Group

Chrystal has shown exceptional skills both technical and interpersonal, to pursue a career in centre and asset management. During COVID-19 Chrystal developed and implemented a successful campaign to sustain connections, support wellbeing and combat isolation at Grafton Shoppingworld.

Kathryn Ellis

QIC Real Estate

Kathryn is spearheading the development of QIC’s Indigenous Design Framework, reflecting how the organisations commitment to inclusivity and diversity can expand into the realm of design management across QIC’s real estate assets. Kathryn is also overseeing a number of projects as QIC continues to expand its Town Centre development strategy and as part of the Cross River Rail over station development pipeline.

Richard has led a team that introduced significant and unique brand partnerships, including Disney. Richard has been instrumental in delivering strong and trusted relationships with brand partners.

Pam has been the driving force behind the Westfield Local Heros program, a national Lifeline Australia partnership and the development of a Mental Health First Aid course which trained more than 420 frontline staff in crisis support.

Kate Stone

Kate has been responding to customer insights and delivering technological solutions to drive value creation in the B2B space. Kate was instrumental in the launch of ‘Brand Amplify’ at GPT, a first-to-market online booking platform, was designed to provide retail brands with 24/7 access to short-term leasable spaces available across our retail assets.

James Nguyen

The GPT Group

James led the GPT project team to create measurable, trackable insights for both our customers and our partners. ‘XConnex’ is GPT’s bespoke voice of customer and sentiment program that utilises business intelligence systems and AI to enhance sentiment analysis as well as track actions.

Daniel Boyle

Vicinity Centres

Daniel led the ideation and delivery of two customer-centric initiatives focussing on ease of use for customers. One of the initiatives being an industry first car parking solution that leveraged the technical expertise across teams within the Vicinity business.
